Evaluating investment climate reforms in Sub‐Saharan Africa

Evaluating investment climate reform initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa, CASE, in consortium with Economisti Associati (Italy) and the Africa Group LLC (USA), is performing an impact assessment study of an International Finance Corporation (IFC) program aimed at improving the investment climate (IC) in Africa. The IFC program has provided four nations, namely, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Rwanda and Sierra Leone, with advisory services for investment climate reforms. As the IFC advisory projects in the four Sub‐Saharan countries are coming to an end, the need has arisen to evaluate these initiatives.  CASE is working to assess results achieved and of the factors that have affected implementation, and to identify key lessons for the design of other regional and global programs. The exercise evaluates immediate impacts that have already materialized, as well as expected medium-long term impacts which will come into effect over the next 3 to 5 years.
