The Financial Crisis and the Future of the Financial System

Title:

100th BRE-CASE Seminar

The Financial Crisis and the Future of the Financial System

Leverage as well as cyclicality and regulation are the key issues in discussing the main causes of the present financial crises and the main lessons from this crisis. The likely changes include: return to retail banking; less globalisation, more host country control; perhaps counter-cyclical control over credit and asset price cycles; controls over leverage applied to all intermediaries.
