Marek Dabrowski, Case Fellow, was a guest speaker at the 5th Asia Economic Community Forum- "Creating Asia Together", which took place in Incheon, Republic of Korea, between October 31th and November 2nd, 2013, and was hosted by Asia Economic Community Foundation. Mr Dabrowski's presentation- “Fiscal or Bailout Union: Where is the EU/EMU’s Fiscal Integration Heading?”- was delivered during the 13th Session "Economic Policy in Asia, the European Union and the United States", organized by the Association for Comparative Economic Studies (ACES) and Korean Association for Comparative Economic Studies. During the presentation he explained the interrelations between monetary union and fiscal union, and discussed the evolution of fiscal arrangements within the EU/EMU, as well as the positive and adverse implications of enhancing the fiscal integration in EU. His co-panelists included M. Kuboniwa from Hitotubashi University, Wooseok Ok from Incheon National University and J. T. Haltimer, a member of a Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.  The presentation was based on CASE Network S&A No. 466, published under the same title-“Fiscal or Bailout Union: Where is the EU/EMU’s Fiscal Integration Heading?”- last month.
