CASE

CASE celebrates its 20th anniversary

CASE has been active for over 20 years, during which we have evolved from a national and regional institution to a truly global think tank. The anniversary celebration took place at our new premises in Warsaw and was attended by many distinguished guests, including CASE’s founders, experts, collaborators, former employees and donors, who have helped to develop CASE throughout the years with their involvement and support.

The evening was opened by Luca Barbone, President of the Management Board, and Ewa Balcerowicz, Chairperson of the Supervisory Council. They welcomed the guests, thanking them all for their unrelenting support and engagement. The Chairwoman gave a short speech about CASE’s beginnings and its development over the past 20 years.

Leszek Balcerowicz, Member of the Supervisory Council, gave a key note presentation on the relations between two fundamental notions: freedom and equality. He argued that, without freedom, the establishment of CASE would not have been possible. Following the official part of the event, the guests were invited to network with potential partners and donors and to enjoy some refreshments.

During its 20 years of operation, CASE has successfully managed more than 300 international and Polish projects, varying in size, nature and geographical coverage. We have established a network of cooperating organizations that now work independently on their own projects, while also collaborating with CASE in project implementation. For many years, we have continuously disseminated the results of our projects through publications, seminars and international conferences. These activities were conducted with a focus on our mission: to provide objective economic analysis and to foster the quality of policy-making to improve the lives of Europeans and their neighbors.

More information about our activities can be found in our 20th Anniversary Brochure.
