We have completed the workshop phase of the project “Digital Resilience Among Children and Young People in Rural Areas”, funded by the PZU Foundation. Over the past several months, we visited primary schools in four Polish regions—Warmian-Masurian, Masovian, Lubusz, and Lower Silesian—reaching more than 500 students.
In total, we delivered 24 workshops in 12 primary schools. The sessions were led by our social affairs specialists: Zuzanna Stańska, Emil Cypryniak, and Martyna Gliniecka.
The workshops aimed to strengthen children’s and young people’s digital resilience and develop the skills needed to navigate the online world safely, critically, and responsibly. Participants analyzed examples of online content and learned to identify the persuasive techniques used by content creators and digital platforms. Together, we explored how online content influences emotions, decisions, and behaviors, and why some materials are particularly effective at capturing users’ attention.
The workshop programme was tailored to participants’ age groups. Younger children discussed online risks such as unsafe links, cyberbullying, online scams, AI-powered photo filters, and influencer advertising. They also learned where to seek support when facing difficult situations online. Older students examined who benefits from users’ online activity and explored ways to create safe and respectful spaces for communication and discussion on the internet.
The workshops took place in primary schools located in:
- Gronowo Górne, Łęcze, and Pogrodzie (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship),
- Pamiątka, Mysiadło, and Prażmów (Masovian Voivodeship),
- Osowa Sień, Jędrzychowice, and Stare Drzewce (Lubusz Voivodeship),
- Kostomłoty, Rakoszyce, and Pisarzowice (Lower Silesian Voivodeship).
The completion of the workshop phase does not mark the end of the project. The next stage will focus on analysing the results, preparing summary materials, and disseminating the key findings and recommendations developed throughout the project.
