The CASE 2025 Christmas basket presents an analysis of price changes for the most frequently purchased food products during the holiday season, based on high-frequency data from the Online CASE CPI tool. According to the results of the study, in December 2025 we will pay on average 4.1% more for the same set of products than a year earlier, which means a clear slowdown in price pressure compared to 2022–2024.

The report shows that in 2025, the prices of many products – especially vegetables, vegetable products and dairy products – will stabilise or fall. On the other hand, higher costs of chocolate and orange juice, among other things, are mainly due to global supply factors, such as record cocoa prices and limited citrus production in the largest exporting countries.

The study also includes a case study on orange juice, an analysis of the impact of global markets on retail prices in Poland, and a detailed methodological appendix describing the process of collecting and filtering online data. The authors also compare the results of the Online CASE CPI with Eurostat data, assessing the accuracy of the method used.
