Jan Hagemejer, President of the Management Board of CASE, commented on data from Statistics Poland (GUS) regarding industrial production in March, which increased by 2.5 percentage points year-on-year. Although this is the first positive result this year, the expert offers no illusions about the state of the industrial sector.

“Weak demand from the EU, low investment, lack of innovation, outdated energy infrastructure, and rising labor costs will continue to erode the competitiveness of Polish exports,” assesses Jan Hagemejer, President of CASE.

The March growth is not a sign of a lasting recovery but rather a warning signal. The structural weaknesses of the industry make it increasingly difficult for Poland to compete on international markets, especially amid rising trade instability.

GUS data also show a decline in industrial employment and weakening wage growth.
