CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research is an independent, fast-paced think-tank comprised of economists, researchers and business development experts. We are currently seeking professionals with a wealth of experience in the economics domain. At CASE, you’ll engage in impactful economic and financial sector projects across EU and non-EU countries. Under the guidance of Senior Management, you will delve into critical topics, including fiscal policies, international trade, growth, investment, innovation and the climate and digital transitions. You will experience a variety of projects, ranging from VAT, excise taxation and fiscal federalism issues to trade policies and barriers, impact of international tariffs and economic sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work on research-based initiatives in line with CASE strategic priorities. The successful candidate will be expected to take a role in research projects, evaluation and impact assessments within multiple areas, including fiscal policy and macroeconomics.
- Expand project opportunities via the preparation of proposals and networking with various stakeholders, donors, public institutions and international business organisations
- Manage and deliver complex research projects to quality, cost, and time standards
- Assist project teams during the conceptualization and execution of different research projects including data analysis, statistical and econometric interpretation, drafting of analytical papers, etc.
- Support the research and business development teams in writing research proposals
- Provide help in the conceptualization and implementation of a new database and modelling capacity
- Engage with relevant domestic and international stakeholders, including the EU institutions
Qualifications:
- University degree (master’s or Phd) in Economics or related field with highly relevant academic and/or work experience in research in public or private sectors;
- 3+ years of experience in applied economics, for example acquired as an economist/financial sector expert in an international institution or in an EU institution, economic consulting or applied research centre, think-tank, government or banking (experience gained during PhD will be considered relevant).
- Good knowledge of quantitative methods of research in economics;
- Advanced computer skills, knowledge of and experience with major statistical and database packages (STATA, SPSS, Python, MS Excel or equivalent);
- econometric modelling experience, including macro-modelling would be a plus;
- experience in fiscal policies and taxation would be an advantage
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and in fast-paced teams;
- Public speaking skills;
- Problem-solving abilities and ability to multi-task and work flexibly in a changing environment;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, team spirit.
- Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of Polish would be an advantage.
