We invite you to the 11th webinar in the CASE Studies series, which will take place at 12 noon on 6 May. The discussion will be based on the CASE report on workers from other EU countries in Poland. We will talk about who these people coming to Poland are, what barriers they face at work and in everyday life, and why their presence is becoming increasingly important for the economy and the labour market.
The free movement of workers is one of the cornerstones of the European Union. In theory, it means equal opportunities, open labour markets and the ability to take up employment easily in any Member State. How does this work in practice?
Although Poland is becoming an increasingly important labour market in Europe, intra-EU mobility remains limited, and its scale is small compared to other EU countries. The survey results point to significant barriers – ranging from language and administrative difficulties, through a lack of transparent information, to challenges related to social integration.
During the meeting, we will consider:
- why the potential for labour mobility from the EU to Poland remains untapped,
- what migrants’ actual experiences are when dealing with institutions and the labour market,
- what measures could enhance Poland’s appeal as a place to live and work.
The report Migrant workers coming to Poland from other European Union member states. Barriers, difficulties, and possible courses of action – CASE was compiled in 2025 on behalf of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
