We invite you to a webinar concluding a project dedicated to strengthening digital resilience among children and young people in rural areas, funded by the PZU Foundation.
During the webinar, we will present a report summarising the needs assessment conducted through research workshops involving 106 children from four regions of Poland (Lower Silesia, Mazovia, Lubusz, and Warmia-Masuria). The consultations focused on four key research questions:
- How does the rural context affect the way children and young people use the internet?
- How do children and young people perceive online risks, and what strategies do they use to cope with them?
- What support networks are available to them?
- What measures can be taken to support children in rural areas, taking into account their specific circumstances?
We will discuss the key findings emerging from these questions, as well as recommendations based on the consultations and addressed to schools, policymakers, online platforms, and other stakeholders.
In the second part of the webinar, we will present educational materials developed for teachers and educators:
- a handbook with workshop scenarios on digital resilience, covering topics such as emotional education, building support systems, and strategies for coping with challenges online;
- an educational dialogue-based game designed to develop children’s emotional and relational awareness in an accessible and engaging way, while helping them learn how to make decisions in situations related to online safety.
The webinar will feature Martyna Gliniecka and Zuzanna Stańska, co-authors of the handbook, report, and educational materials, as well as invited guests. The event will be moderated by Jan Bazyli Klakla.
The webinar is aimed at teachers, school counsellors and educators, representatives of non-governmental organisations, and anyone interested in media literacy and children’s online safety.
