EU financial assistance available to local and regional authorities in the candidate and potential candidate countries for EU enlargement

The projects aimed to identify which EU funds and programmes the sub-national authorities from the enlargement countries have access to, keeping in mind that possibilities for cooperation vary by country.

CASE experts prepared a study which describes the general features of funds in place at the EU and national level and suggest the easiest ways of accessing these for the local and regional authorities in enlargement countries. It was taken the CoR study of 2014 as a basis and comprehensively update its content taking into account financial resources available within the Instrument for Pre-Accession (IPA-II) for the current financial period (2014- 2020) and eventual findings of its Mid Term Review. The study covers other funding opportunities available within the EU programmes open to the enlargement countries, including (but not limited to): Erasmus+, TAIEX, SIGMA, Horizon 2020, Creative Europe, etc.

The study was published in the form of a brochure to be used as a guide for local and regional authorities in the enlargement countries.
