Project Assistance to the Government of Kazakstan in the Effective Implementation of Privatization

Description:

This project, financed by the UNDP, was a continuation of an earlier advisory project run by the UNDP and UNCTAD. Its task was to increase the legal and economic knowledge on the subject of privatization and improve its process. CASE experts took part in preparing the legal framework for the privatization process and privatization program. Julian Pankow (co-ordinator), [Wladyslaw Jermakowicz] and Piotr Kozarzewski participated in the implementation of this project, working directly with the Prime Minister Kazhegeldin and Minister of State Property Management Kolomoulzayev. At the time, Julian Pankow was Presidential Adviser and a member of the government's privatization working group.
