CASE is seeking an EVS volunteer
CASE – Center for Social and Economic Research is an independent, non-profit research institute founded on the idea that research-based policy-making is vital for the economic welfare of societies. CASE is seeking a volunteer from the EU countries to support its work on policy-oriented research and development assistance projects in the areas of growth and trade, fiscal policy, labor and social policy, demography, innovation, energy and climate, with close guidance and backing of the CASE team.
The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in the core subject areas and activities of CASE and, more generally, be familiar with the work of European NGOs and research institutes working with the European civil society. A CASE volunteer is an academically accomplished, open-minded and enthusiastic person, eager to apply current skills and learn new ones, with good personal initiative and able to work in an international and multicultural environment.
The volunteer will be mainly involved in background research and preparation of project proposals, support the management of ongoing projects and manage some smaller projects on their own. He/she may also be involved in supporting the communications team. The volunteer will also be strongly encouraged to propose his/her own ideas, projects and undertake any research activity in line with CASE mission. Previous research, project management or communication experience is, however, not necessary, since appropriate training will be provided at the beginning and throughout the EVS experience.
Volunteering at CASE is focused on ‘hands-on activities’ which are structured so as to develop volunteers’ competences in various areas of CASE work, taking into account volunteers’ preferences. Principle areas of development include:
- research and data analysis;
- project management;
