Aleś Alachnovič

Aleś Alachnovič is CASE Belarus Team Leader. Aleś graduated from the London School of Economics and the Warsaw School of Economics (under the supervision of Leszek Balcerowicz) and studied Chinese economic transition at the National Taiwan University. Previously, he worked at World Bank, EY, McKinsey and the National Bank of Poland. Since 2021, Aleś has been a member of the Association of Polish Economists (TEP). In addition, he is Vice President of the Association of Belarusian Business Abroad (ABBA) and its Country Manager for USA.

Aleś has gathered over 13 years of academic and professional experience researching and specializing in Central and Eastern European economies, incl. economic transformation of post-socialist countries, institutional economics, and monetary policy.
